Illustrative factsheets on wetland values and benefits and threats to the wetland were prepared in English and vernacular languages for 4 project sites, namely, Point Calimere, Bhitarkanika, Pong and Renuka in 2019-2020 for communication and engagement with the local stakeholders.
The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), along with its knowledge partners, including WISA, WWF and GIZ, scaled up this exercise to include all the Ramsar sites of the country and a factsheet compilation was then released in CMS CoP 2020. The booklet is now periodically revised to include all the wetlands in the ever-growing network of Ramsar Sites of India. Link to the latest edition |
