Training for secretaries of BMC

Inauguration of Coastal and Marine Biodiversity Centre

The Tamil Nadu Biodiversity Board and GIZ, India organised the one-day training for the secretaries of Biodiversity Management Committees (BMCs) for all the districts. This training aims to provide in-depth knowledge needed to carry out functions mandated under the Biological Diversity Act, 2002 to the secretaries of BMCs in Tamil Nadu. The training includes roles and functions of BMC secretaries including accounts maintenance, conducting meetings etc. Today, Secretaries of BMCs from Coimbatore and Nilgiri district are participating in this training. Coimbatore has 13 BMCs and Nilgiri, 4 BMCs. Mr. Deepak Srivastava, IFS, Chief Conservator of Forest, Coimbatore also participated in the workshop.
