Trainings of Eco-club School Teachers on “Coastal and Marine Biodiversity and Protected Area Management in Gujarat” were organised jointly by GIZ and GEER Foundation under the Indo-German CMPA project, during December 1-3, 2016 at GEER Foundation, Gandhinagar-Gujarat.
This training programme was designed to provide an overview of concepts, magnitude, issue and challenges of coastal and marine biodiversity in Gujarat and brainstorm on the most effective and engaging ways to communicate it to the students.
The participants of the training were 102 teachers, who are in-charge of eco-clubs in their respective schools, in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar districts of Gujarat state. Trainers and resource persons came from GIZ, GEER Foundation and Charkha in Gujarat- Dr. R. D. Kamboj (IFS), Director, GEER Foundation; Mr. Abhinav Mehta-Junior Project Coordinator, CMPA Project, GIZ; Mr. D. C. Mehta, DFO, GEER Foundation, Mr. Aalap Pandit, Ms. Devanshi Joshi, Research Associate, GEER Foundation, Ms. Lopamudra, Research Associate, GEER Foundation, and Mr. Sanjay Dave, Media trainer and communication expert, Charkha.
