Dr. Aaron S. Lobo as new Speaker of the SNRD Asia – Hills to Ocean (H2O) working group

Dr. Aaron S. Lobo, Advisor of the CMPA Project, was nominated as the new Speaker of the Hills to Ocean Working Group (H2O) at the recent joint SNRD Asia Steering Group Meeting in Bangkok, Thailand. Dr Lobo already had served as co-speaker in this group since July 2016 along with Dr. Stefan Groenewold, who still remains active in the group as a co-speaker.

The Sector Network Natural Resources and Rural Development Asia (SNRD Asia) is a GIZ internal platform for learning and sharing of sector-specific knowledge in the field of natural resources and rural development. Currently, the network has 350 professionals as members and is comprised of 54 projects in 16 countries in the Asia and Pacific region. The projects are organized in seven working groups, namely Agriculture, Biodiversity, Climate Change Adaptation, H2O, Green Education, REDD +, and SDG taskforce).

The H2O Working Group represents projects in the coastal and the marine sphere that cover a range of issues including marine protected area management, integrated coastal zone management, fisheries, aquaculture, and integrated coastal protection planning. The main objective of the H2O working group is to create a lively platform for knowledge exchange which enhances up-scaling of successful models and methods for problem solving.
